promisekeeper

The opening of the book of Job offers some insight to this mans character. He was honest and innocent. He honored God and stayed away from evil. Judging from his list of possessions, he was a very rich man. Job was a person of exceptional character-and God had blessed him.

So when God allowed Satin to take it all away-his possessions, his livestock, his servants, and even his children-Job was devastated. He tore his robe and shaved his head to display his distress...

but he never blamed God.

why didn't he just curse God and die?

But Job learned a tough lesson through his loss: blessings and tragedy are both parts of life. And while putting your trust in God will certainly help you through the tough times, it doesn’t mean that the tough times won't come.

Matthew 5:45 says that God "causes the sun to rise on good people and on evil people, he sends rain to those who do right and those who do wrong." Just because were Christians doesn’t mean that we won't have to face pain and suffering.

God doesn’t promise to protect us from all harm...BUT he does promise to give us strength to face whatever life throws at us.(Psalm 55:22)

Are you facing a problem that seems too big to handle?

God won't necessarily make it go away...BUT

he definitely wants to help you get through it.

"Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you." (1 Peter 5:7)

Even though I walk through a dark vally, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. your rod and your shepard's staff comfort me.

Psalm 37:7

Wait and trust the Lord. Don't be upset when others get rich or when someone else's plans suceed.

Isaiah 57:18

I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore  comfort to him.

 James 5:14-15

Anyone who is sick should call the church elders they should pray for you and pour oil on the person in the name of the Lord. And the prayer that is said with faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will heal that sick person. and if the person has sinned, the sin will be forgiven.

John 16:33

I told you these things so that you can have peace in me. In this world you will have trouble, but be brave! I have defeated the world.

Matthew 8:16-17

That evening people brought many people who had demons to Jesus. Jesus spoke and the demons left them, he healed the sick. He did these things to bring about what Isaiah the prophit had said:

"he took our suffering on him and carried our diseases"
