The opening of the book of Job offers some insight to this mans character. He was honest and innocent. He honored God and stayed away from evil. Judging from his list of possessions, he was a very rich man. Job was a person of exceptional character-and God had blessed him. So when God allowed Satin to take it all away-his possessions, his livestock, his servants, and even his children-Job was devastated. He tore his robe and shaved his head to display his distress... but he never blamed God. why didn't he just curse God and die? But Job learned a tough lesson through his loss: blessings and tragedy are both parts of life. And while putting your trust in God will certainly help you through the tough times, it doesn’t mean that the tough times won't come. Matthew 5:45 says that God "causes the sun to rise on good people and on evil people, he sends rain to those who do right and those who do wrong." Just because were Christians doesn’t mean that we won't have to face pain and suffering. God doesn’t promise to protect us from all harm...BUT he does promise to give us strength to face whatever life throws at us.(Psalm 55:22)Are you facing a problem that seems too big to handle?God won't necessarily make it go away... BUThe definitely wants to help you get through it. "Give all your worries to him, because he cares about you." (1 Peter 5:7)
