"Whatever" FaithIf you have grown up in a Christian home, or go to a christian school, doing the "christian thing" may be kind of easy for you. But just going with the flow in completly christian friendly environments can lead to a serious lack of passion in your faith.A wishy-washy attitude wasn't an option for John and the people he was writing to. Christians were being tortured and killed because of their faith. In fact, John himself was writing from the Island of Patmos, where he was exiled for being a Christian. Can you imagine believers were acting like Jesus is 'no big deal'? Do you know people who act like that today? What about you? Have YOU settled into a routine of 'going through the motions'...Going to church and saying your a christian, but lost the burning desire to serve God in your heart and in you life?If your faith is hot, you're on fire, passionate, and willing do whatever God tells you.If your faith is cold, you might be angry with God about something, struggling through a really tough situation, a dryspell, or just wishing God would talk to you. BUT at least you care.If you lukewarm, you just don't care, and that is the WORST place to be in.Don't let YOUR faith loose its fire, no matter how comfortable you are right now. When the though times come, you can't afford to be "whatever" about what you believe.Don't waste your life pretending-Get serious about following God! |
